— Robert K. Oermann, Music Row Magazine

Carter to be a featured guest artist on WoodSongs Old Time Radio Hour, Monday, Oct. 4 at Lyric Theater in Lexington, and streaming live at 7pm ET at WoodSongs.com/live

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Crossover country and southern pop recording artist Brei Carter is excited to release her new music video today (youtu.be/vEheHlkZfDU) for “Gave Him a Girl,” a song which she proudly embraces her southern country roots. The song was recently heralded by journalist and country music historian Robert K. Oermann as “cute and catchy” in his weekly single review column for Music Row Magazine. The video also follows suit and hints at scenes from Brei’s upbringing as a little girl, her family’s influence on her, and shows the very authentic and vivacious southern persona she is building a reputation for.

“Being your best self is being an original, and that’s so much better than being an imitation of someone else,” Carter said. “Girls, live in your skin and love who you are because with you everyone gets the best of both worlds!”

The video is also set to make its network TV premiere on Monday, October 11 on The Country Network, along with forthcoming airings on Country Music Today on The Heartland Network, and will be added to the live-streaming rotation at Nashville Country Music TV.

Brei is also one of the featured guest performing artists on Michael Johnathon’s WoodSongs Old Time Radio Hour, Show #1019, being taped Monday, October 4 at the historic Lyric Theater in Lexington, Kentucky. Brei is set to perform “Gave Him A Girl” and a few others, along with telling the stories behind her songs. The show will stream live at 7pm ET at WoodSongs.com/Live

About Brei Carter:
Emerging crossover country and southern pop recording artist Brei Carter is proof that sometimes faith, patience and time pays off. Growing up in Monroe, Louisiana with a solid, southern upbringing, Brei’s family raised her on several authentic southern staples: the Bible, Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church’s choir, Charley Pride, Loretta Lynn, Aretha Franklin, and no shortage of familial love and devotion. However, before she became the dynamic and vivacious country singer she is today, Brei was busy earning a Bachelor’s in Business from University of Louisiana at Monroe, a Master’s in International Relations from Webster University, and a Doctorate in Theology from New Foundation Theological Seminary. She is also a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army, where she served as an enlisted soldier and as an officer. Having moved to Nashville soon thereafter, Brei has quickly established herself in the songwriters community as a smooth and sometimes edgy songstress who melds country, soul and southern pop into one fused style. Her first single at country radio “Gave Him A Girl” was immediately recognized as “cute and catchy” by country music journalist and historian Robert K. Oermann in his weekly DISClaimer review column for Music Row Magazine. With a growing catalog of singles, this young singer-songwriter is a welcome addition to the emerging new styles of the country music community.

About Adam Warner:
Adam Warner comes from a family who have been family farmers for more than 100 years, and he grew up with men who served in the U.S. Military. He found an early love for music and played in bands throughout high school. Influenced by his favorite singers, including Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, George Jones and Hank Williams Jr. and Sr., he started writing songs and continued to perform until he took a break from music while in college to join the U. S. Marines for five years. As soon as he could after his discharge, Warner moved to Nashville, where he was soon back to writing songs and entertaining fans. It was obviously the right decision, because country star Trace Adkins heard about him and invited Warner to open his shows. Warner had heard Adkins’ hit “SemperFi” when he was in the Marines and told Adkins he would like to record the song, and Adkins agreed to duet on it with him. The song won Warner the Vox Pop award for Country Music Song of the Year at the 17th annual Independent Music Awards in June of 2019. Warner and buddies Quinn Loggins and Trafton Harvey wrote “Welcome to the South,” which has become the theme song for the NFL team the Tennessee Titans, who turned it into a video they play before each of their games in Nashville. Warner released an EP in 2020, Can’t Get Enough. He then followed with his first studio album, 2020’s Big Storm, where his single “4 Square Miles” was widely received by his fans, and secured him nods from many music industry tastemakers and spins at country radio. The song is dedicated to his grandfather Fred who passed away, along with growing up on his 5th generation family’s farm in Illinois! The song’s video climbed to #1 in 2021 on The Country Network’s Top 20 Countdown Show. He is now working on his next project, which he says will stay in the same realm, but as the Marines taught him, will show growth in his music.
