“…reflecting on where he’s been — and where he’s going next.”
– Sterling Whitaker, Taste Of Country
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 16, 2025) — Country singer-songwriter and independent recording artist John PayCheck will officially release his new music video on Friday, July 18 for his self-reflective song “More Days Behind” [stream/buy], which finds the U.S. Army veteran, lavender farmer and songwriter reflecting on what’s really important and where he’s at in life’s metaphorical timeline. It’s the title track from his 2024 sophomore album, More Days Behind, produced by Bill McDermott (George Strait, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley) in Nashville.
In an exclusive music video premiere today from Taste of Country [click to read/watch], PayCheck chatted with TOC’s Sterling Whitaker about his life, career and Father, Johnny PayCheck. The video’s official roll out on his YouTube channel is scheduled for Friday, July 18 at 9am ET. The video will also make its worldwide TV Premiere on The Heartland Network [affiliates/stream list] on July 18 at 5:30pm EST|PST. [watch online].
“This song just really hit home,” PayCheck said. “It was me reflecting on how much I have done this far in life and what the remaining future holds for me. I think we all at some point have to stop, breath, look around and decide what matters. For me it is my wife and kids.”
The video was shot by Victor Bonacore and Directed and Edited by PayCheck himself, and filmed throughout his family’s lavender farm in Virginia.
“I have done a lot for others with a life of service in the Army, and will continue to,” PayCheck acknowledged. “But I’m also stepping back a little more to make sure I don’t miss out on the things that matter most. My family, and music is what keeps me busy now.”
