Southbound 75 To Release Highly Anticipated New Album Tales From The Black Swamp On Friday, October 29 Via Bad Jeu Jeu Records

“I think these guys are great for today’s country music because they have a rock ‘edge’ that I think country is already moving towards, and I think they want more of. I think these guys are primed to be there when that happens, and they’re gonna help spearhead it.”
– Bill McDermott, Record Producer, Omni Sound Studio Nashville

“…big, rollicking sound, and the kind of catchy choruses that have people singing along before they know it.  It’s easy to imagine them at venues like State Fairs and outdoor music festivals.”
– Harold Fickett, Founder/Publisher, SCENES Media

Band to host album release show in Tampa, October 29 at the Dallas Bull

TAMPA, Fla. – Southbound 75 are set to officially release their highly-anticipated first full length studio album, Tales From The Black Swamp, on Friday, October 29 via Bad Jeu Jeu Records (orcd.co/talesfromtheblackswamp). The new set of tunes was recorded at Omni Sound Studio in Nashville, and produced by music city hitmaker Bill McDermott (Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, George Strait), who credited the Florida-based quintet by saying, “I think these guys are great for today’s country music because they have a rock ‘edge’ that I think country is already moving towards, and I think they want more of. I think these guys are primed to be there when that happens, and they’re gonna help spearhead it.”

“We are so excited to finally get our debut album out on October 29,” said chief songwriter and frontman, Mark Lorenzo. “I am pretty sure we’ve experienced about every delay we could with the COVID-19 pandemic, but we’ve finally reached the finish line, and are excited about our new partnerships with Bad Jeu Jeu Records, Bob Morelli at Cool Is Forever, and everyone else on our team that has helped us reach our goal of getting this record out in a big way!”

The band recently introduced the album’s newest single “Spilled Champagne” to country radio on PlayMPE, where more than a dozen stations throughout the south and midwest have already picked up the song for airplay. Exclusively premiered by SCENES Media in May, the song has a somewhat laughable backstory about spending entirely too much money on a girl that is just way out of your league.

“When we wrote the song, it started out as just a funny story,” said Lorenzo. “But as we began playing the song live, fans started telling us about their own life experiences with similar situations. Not necessarily flying to the islands, but a few actually got to the ‘Diamonds’ stage, so that helped make the song way more authentic!”

Album Release Show Planned in Tampa
Southbound 75 are planning two FREE open to the public album release show to celebrate the release of Tales From The Black Swamp. in their hometown of Tampa on Friday, October 29 at the Dallas Bull.

“We really worked hard on getting the album to sound like the way we sound when playing out live,” said Lorenzo. “So when you come see us live, then listen to the songs later, you know it’s our songs, our sounds but it matches your memory of the show.”

About Southbound 75:
Southbound 75’s story started when Radio Promotion legend Bill Scull heard lead songwriter Mark Lorenzo’s tune “Little Breakdown” for the first time at an ASCAP demo review session. Scull, who had worked in the industry for years, including with Clive Davis, singled Lorenzo out, and signed him. Playing their first show in 2018, Southbound 75 has steadily grown a large fanbase throughout their home state of Florida, with numerous live shows from Key West to Cleveland, Ohio. In October 2021, the band will release their highly anticipated debut album, Tales From The Black Swamp, produced by Nashville hit-maker Bill McDermott, and being released on Bad Jeu Jeu Records via The Orchard. The newest single from the album, “Spilled Champagne,” exclusively premiered by SCENES Media and also featured on CMT’s weekly Spotify playlist The Roundup, is an upbeat, radio-friendly country rock song with a somewhat laughable backstory about spending entirely too much money on a girl that is just way out of your league. Lorenzo’s songs have been used on TV shows, sports programming, DVDs, Cartoons and more such as; “ESPN College Football;” “Shark” (CBS); “90210” (CW); “Threshold” (CBS); “Girlfriends” (CW) and “3lbs” on (CBS).

Canadian Teen Pop-Rockers Ready Set Bro Charm With Soulful Tribute To Dogs Everywhere On “Ben”

“Ben” available on all major digital music platforms TODAY: linktr.ee/ReadySetBro

Adorable new video featuring “Judo the Pug” premieres on Sept. 14 on YouTube

Ready Set Bro recently featured throughout Canada on Global News, and as rising stars on Medium.com’s Authority Magazine

CALGARY, Alb. – Teenage brothers in music Tavyn, Auslen and Kaplan Doell are better known as Ready Set Bro, an emerging pop-rock n’ roll band out of Calgary, Alberta. Today the trio releases their first tribute cover song of ”Ben” across all major digital music platforms (linktr.ee/ReadySetBro), along with an adorable music video that will premiere on September 14 via their YouTube channel.

“Ben” was the song Michael Jackson charted his first number #1 hit with in 1972, as a single on Motown records. Originally written by Don Black and Walter Scharf, the song is about a boy and his pet rat.

“This song reminds us of the connection so many people have to their beloved pets,” said lead singer Kaplan Doell. “The companionship they offer is incomparable. The original song was written about a boy and his pet rat, but we reimagined it being about a connection between a boy and his dog.”

With a strong connection to this song during the Doell brothers’ childhood, they decided to reimagine the song with a dog, instead of a rat. Specifically a cute little Pug named Judo, who starred alongside the brothers in the forthcoming new video.

“I felt strongly that our version needed a soulful guitar solo that matched the emotion of the song,” explained Auslen Doell. “The end result is a homage to the original with a tasteful twist featuring the solo and modulation.”

About Ready Set Bro:
Growing up in a musical family, brothers Tavyn, Auslen and Kaplan Doell, have been immersed in the music scene since they were very young. At first, they watched from side stage, attending festivals, concerts and recording sessions with their professional musician dad, who charted songs on Canadian radio and was nominated for the Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMA) ‘Rising Star’ and ‘Group or Duo of the Year’, with country rock band Jo Hikk. The three brothers began their formal music training learning drums, vocals, piano and guitar. They naturally advanced to the instruments they personally connected with the most. Dedicated to their craft, the boys practice long hours, working to attain mastery on their instruments. When writing original material their focus is on strong melodies, 3-part harmonies, meaningful lyrics, and intricate musical passages on their respective instruments. Always willing to explore different genres, they have an appreciation for rock, pop, country, and jazz, settling into a sound that blends their musical influences. Along with music, all three brothers are enthusiastic flag football players and fans of both the CFL and the NFL, with a nod to this passion in their band name, Ready Set Bro.
